Volunteers' Week 2026

This week (1st-7th June) is Volunteers week, a national opportunity to recognise the incredible contribution volunteers make across our communities and to say thank you.
Graphic with bold black text reading “It’s time to say thank you” on a white background, surrounded by colorful star outlines and abstract shapes in pink, green, blue, yellow, and purple. The hashtag “#volunteersweek” appears at the bottom.

Our volunteers have helped Healthwatch East Sussex listen to your views and champion your voices to health and care decision makers. Together they have helped to achieve real change and improve services for communities across East Sussex.

On Tuesday the 2nd of June we will be celebrating our volunteers with a visit to Herstmonceux Castle Gardens.

We want to say a huge thank you to all of our incredible volunteers for the incredible contribution they make.

“Healthwatch would not be able to operate without the knowledge, skills and experience of our volunteers. Patients and the public can feel more confident talking to someone independent of health and care services, and so volunteers are a key part of capturing the authentic voice of patient experience.”

Matthew Ryan, Engagement Manager (Volunteering), East Sussex Community Voice.
