2026 Spring COVID-19 vaccination programme launches this April
The NHS is offering a COVID-19 vaccine this spring to those most at risk of serious illness.
From 7 April 2026, eligible people will be able to book their vaccination via the National Booking System website and phoneline or will be contacted by their GP practice, with appointments available from 13 April.
Those eligible include:
• Adults aged 75 and over
• Residents in care homes for older adults
• Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed, as defined in COVID-19: the green book, chapter 14a
Protection from previous COVID-19 vaccines can reduce over time. The spring vaccine helps boost immunity and provides important protection against severe illness and hospitalisation.
The vaccine is free and available through the NHS.
If you’re eligible, please book your appointment as soon as possible.
