In November 2025, Healthwatch in Sussex wanted to better understand experiences of NHS support for children's learning needs in Sussex to support, compliment and enable amplification of the views and experiences highlighted by community partners.
This quarterly report highlights how we have listened to the voices of the public, patients and partners and used people’s feedback, experiences and preferences to help shape health and social care in East Sussex from July – September 2025.
Pharmacies play a key role in supporting the health of the population, dispensing medicines, offering support to help people manage their health at home, and with Pharmacy First (launched April 2024), offering diagnosis and treatment of seven common medical conditions by a registered pharmacist without intervention from a GP.
In September 2025, Healthwatch in Sussex sought people’s experiences of recent changes to GP practices, including using technology to access health services the introduction of new staff roles.
Between September 2023 and April 2025, Young Healthwatch East Sussex undertook several activities to explore and hear young people’s experiences of using paediatric services provided by East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) and wider spaces within their acute hospital sites.
